Ankeny/Gowey House / Historic Seattle Archives
Historic Seattle purchased the house in 1980 after being approached by the Gowey family, residents of the house since 1933. Historic Seattle completed partial renovation on the exterior of the house, rebuilding the entire south and front facades. The property was then sold to the Moultrie family, who undertook extensive interior renovation of the house.

The house continues to be a single family residence in a neighborhood under growing pressure from large apartment house development. Through protective covenants included in the sale of the house, it continues to be protected from demolition and exterior alteration.
