As June settles in, the mix of sun, rain, and shifting temperatures reminds us that summer isn’t quite here yet—it wouldn’t be called Junuary otherwise. Still, the plants are loving it, and new blooms seem to be showing off every day. So get outside and take some time to literally stop and smell the roses.

Fragrant Roses

Rosa ‘Russeliana’ and Rosa ‘Stanwell Perpetual

Fragrant Roses fill the air with a sweet, classic rose fragrance you can smell before you even see them around the corner. Their petals are lovely for making rose water, and they bloom repeatedly throughout the summer.

Big Leaf Magnolia Tree

Magnolia macrophylla

A rare and beautiful tree known for its enormous leaves and large, fragrant blooms. Its name tells the story: macro means large, and phyllon means leaf in Greek.

European Raspberry

Rubus idaeus

The European Raspberry is setting fruit and starting to ripen. Get your buckets ready for harvest and your snips ready to trim back any canes growing where you don’t want them.
