Join Historic Seattle, Vanishing Seattle, and the CID Coalition on February 13 to show some love to Bush Garden and raise awareness of this cherished community gathering place Chinatown-International District!
Stop by any time after 5:30 pm for crafting (we’ll supply the materials!) and happy hour specials. At 7:00 pm, we’ll take a group photo with our valentines to share on social media. Karaoke will start earlier than usual at 8:00 pm.
What’s a Heart Bomb?!
A heart bomb is a public display of affection for places that matter. Every February, people across the country gather at historic sites and local landmarks (both safe and threatened!) to snap a photo with their valentines. Sharing the photos on social media raises awareness of these special places and why they matter to their local communities. Share your own photos using #heartbombSEA and #IHeartSavingPlaces.
Why Bush Garden?
Established in 1953, Bush Garden’s lounge has always been a hub of community activity where people come together to connect with friends and colleagues, celebrate personal milestones, and sing karaoke.
Bush Garden’s future in this historic building is uncertain because of plans for redevelopment. This heart bomb (Historic Seattle’s fifth annual) is an opportunity to show support and advocate for its preservation!
