History Collective curates conversations and storytelling about the preservation and history of Seattle neighborhoods from community members, artists, historians, business owners, and residents.
Historic Seattle is pleased to present the next History Collective, in partnership with HistoryLink, on Thursday, February 25, 2021! The conversation will accompany HistoryLink’s Walking Tour of Seattle’s Central District neighborhood.
Prior to this virtual event, we encourage you to take the self-guided walking tour – then join us on February 25th for a follow-up conversation on lessons from the past that are informing the future of Seattle’s Black Community in the Central District and beyond. Our guest speakers include:
- Elisheba Johnson | Conceptual Artist and Co-Founder of Wa Na Wari
- Stephanie Johnson-Toliver | President of the Black Heritage Society of Washington State
- Jackie Peterson | Exhibit Developer and Independent Curator (author of the HistoryLink Central District tour)
- Sharon Nyree Williams | Storyteller and Executive Director of Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas
Cost: Free!
