Seattle’s Industrial Legacy: Earthwise Architectural Salvage

Thursday, June 5, 2025 | Special Events (see all) 3447 4th Avenue South
Seattle, WA 98134 United States

As part of our Seattle’s Industrial Legacy program series, Historic Seattle invites you behind the scenes at Earthwise Architectural Salvage, where the past isn’t just preserved — it’s repurposed, reimagined, and resold.

Click here to purchase your ticket!

More than a warehouse of antique doors and clawfoot tubs, Earthwise is a living archive of Seattle’s built environment. For over 30 years, Earthwise has been salvaging architectural elements from historic homes, industrial buildings, and forgotten factories across the region. Every hinge, beam, and banister tells a story — of design, of industry, and of a city constantly remaking itself.

Join us for a hands-on exploration of salvage as a form of preservation and sustainability, and discover how salvage is a critical component of our modern day Preservation movement. We’ll also enjoy a show-and-tell featuring some of the coolest objects Earthwise currently has in its collection!

Whether you’re a preservationist, a DIY home restorer, or just someone who loves the smell of old wood and patinaed metal, this event is for you.

Please note that the Earthwise warehouse is not wheelchair accessible. It has some tight hallways and trip hazards. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Evan Bue, our Community Programs Manager.
