Historic Seattle and the Center for Wooden Boats invite you to spend an evening on Lake Union. Learn about the Center’s history and its continued focus on traditional boat education for people of all ages.

Dick and Colleen Wagner founded the Center after running a bustling small boat rental business from their historic floating home under the Aurora Bridge. Dick designed the two original floating buildings to accommodate the Center and he also nominated the Wagner family’s 1909 floating home to the National Register of Historic Places.

Learn about the growing appreciation for maritime heritage in Seattle and the ongoing efforts to preserve this history.
