CANCELED! Whidbey Island: Tour of Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve and Historic Coupeville

Saturday, August 20, 2022 | All Events (see all)

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELED

Our tour of Whidbey Island required a minimum of 15 registrants by August 8. It was canceled due to under-registration, and Historic Seattle is in the process of refunding all ticketholders. Thank you for understanding! If you have questions, please email Taelore Rhoden, Community Events Manager, at taelorer@historicseattle.org.

Join Historic Seattle for a day-long tour of historic Whidbey Island, the second-longest island in the continental United States!

Explore Fort Casey, originally constructed to protect the entrance to Puget Sound at the turn of the 20th century.

We will also visit Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve, one of the largest National Register historic districts in the country. Today, Ebey’s Landing represents a unique preservation partnership between the National Park Service, Washington State Parks, landowners, and other local agencies and non-profits.

Visit historic Coupeville’s 19th-century Haller House and learn about its ongoing restoration. We’ll reflect on the day at the historic Captain Whidbey Inn, before heading back to Seattle.

Snacks and boxed lunch provided. Please note that the bus and certain sites on the tour may not be ADA accessible. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Directions to the meeting point in Seattle will be sent to registered participants. Whidbey Island residents must join the tour bus at our first stop on Whidbey Island, which will also be included in the reminder email.
