The University of Washington issued a Request for Qualifications and Concepts (RFQ/C) on January 30, 2012 for rehabilitation of Building 9, a former barracks used by the Navy, located in the Sand Point Naval Air Station Historic District. The building is vacant and needs substantial work but the project presents a great opportunity for re-use and could provide much need housing in the neighborhood if that is the use chosen for the project. For more information on the RFQ/C and RFP process, go to the Spectrum Development Solutions website. An information session for developers is being held on February 9, 2012, 10 am at UW Tower Auditorium.
