The Louisa Hotel’s diverse historic uses include single room occupancy (SRO) lodging for immigrant laborers, a prohibition-era speakeasy, and Chinatown’s first bakery. Tour the rehabilitated 1910 building before it reopens to tenants and begins its next chapter as workforce housing and small, local retail.
The program begins with a presentation on the history of the hotel. Then, hear from design and project staff as they lead you on a tour of the Louisa Hotel – with an emphasis on how their renovations kept the building’s neighborhood context in mind.
