About Placemakers:
New for 2020, Placemakers is a series of networking events designed with young professionals and students in mind. Each event will take place at a different historic location relevant to the event’s theme. Whether you’re an established urban planner or a first-year architecture student, we encourage you to join us for a discussion of historic preservation’s role in the built environment.
All are welcome! Our goal is to provide opportunities for you to connect with other professionals and students in the fields of urban planning, architecture, construction, engineering, business, and real estate.
About This Event:
Join Historic Seattle for the inaugural event in our Placemakers series! Come meet other professionals and students to discuss the history of The Ave, the cultural footprint of its legacy businesses, and the role of historic preservation in placemaking. Hear from Cory Crocker, architect and secretary of the U District Small Business Alliance, about efforts to recognize The Ave as a National Register historic district and American Planning Association Great Place.
This event is 18+. Your first drink (beer, wine, cider, soda, coffee) is on us!
Cost: Free! Registration is required as space is limited.
