Each February, Historic Seattle joins groups and individuals across the country in heart bombing, a fun and creative form of advocacy where people gather at historic sites and local landmarks (both safe and threatened) to snap a photo with their homemade valentines. The photos are shared on social media to raises awareness about the places that matter in a community.
For its 7th Heart Bomb, Historic Seattle has partnered with Keep Music Live Washington to raise awareness of efforts to save hometown, community-based music venues in Seattle and across the state that have been closed since March 2020 due to COVID-19. Historic Seattle has also partnered with Artist & Crafstman to supply valentine craft kits* to attendees for this year’s event.
The 2021 virtual event will feature a live performance by Tomo Nakayama, a spotlight on Keep Music Live Washington, and – of course – plenty of time for all of you to share your handcrafted valentines and love for Seattle’s music venues.
Per tradition, please share your heart bombs on social media platforms using #heartbombSEA and #IHeartSavingPlaces to be a part of the local and nationwide love fest.
